After several months, I returned to the Niagara region to complete my last 15 kilometres of the Bruce Trail Niagara Club. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that there would be the Ball’s Falls craft festival over the Thanksgiving long weekend. This meant that we couldn’t park at Ball’s Falls unless we had tickets to the craft fair. We did find parking close to the falls, but after a pretty tough trek mud filled trek, adding 5 or so more kilometres to our hiking day to go from 5th Ave to Ball’s Falls and back just didn’t seem plausible.

Note: I returned to finish my last 2.7 km on November 27, 2021.

None the less, even with these challenges, it was great day to be out! The leaves were beginning to change colour and the air had that perfect fall crispness. The 13 kilometer hike from Fifth Ave & Victoria to the East Entrance of Mountainview Conservation Area showcased great escarpment views, vineyards, mushrooms and puddles.
