Bruce Trail – Map 12 – Limehouse Part 2

KMs 20.4-24.1r

It’s hard to believe that the last time I hiked here was over 3 years ago. It’s still one of the prettiest places to venture about and explore.

Today we hiked the Bruce Trail from the parking lot, kilometer 20.4 to kilometer 24.1 and took the road back to kilometer 21.5. This next part of the trail took us the idyllic scene of a babbling creek spanned by a stone arch, the remains of an old mill. The historic kilns are on the other side of the bridge.

We doubled back to the where the Bruce splits to Black Creek side trail followed that along until it split and took another side trail back to the main Bruce Trail. This is the part of the trail that leads to the fun part – “Hole in the Wall”. This is section where the escarpment fissures formed a sort of hole or tunnel that you can walk through and then climb two ladders to reach the upper level of the Bruce Trail.

The rest of the Bruce Trail runs along the top of the fissured rocks, with one spot where you must walk or hop over a fissure. Stay on the trail to ensure safe footing.
