Finally, I did it! I made it to the East Coast and got to check a whole bunch of things off my travel bucket list.
On day 1, we drove to Montreal and setup camp out in the burbs at place called Camping Amerique. This campground is also summer cottage trailer park, if this makes any sense. There is an area for tent campers. They get many cyclists and some youth groups. Then there are permanent mobile homes and RVs that are most certainly occupied by regulars who know each other quite well. Campers share showers and washrooms. There are laundry facilities available if desired. The staff are very friendly.
We could have driven further, but my daughter had never been to Montreal before. I just had to give her a taste.
We toured Montreal’s Old City.
We ate at an old favourite, Jardin Nelson.
The call of campground’s pool on a long hot day called us back to camp. A child is a happy parent.
