Happy Trails, Happy Tummies

Exploring isn’t just about hiking, in our books it includes food too. And a trip to Tofino isn’t complete without a visit to Chocolate Tofino and the Tofitian.

After refuelling we set out on Rain Forest Trail A. We’ve done Trail B in the past and it tends to be the busiest because it’s attached to the parking lot.

We roasted popcorn over our magical camp fire that night with another family staying at the camp.

We awoke to rain our last day. If it was a surfing day the rain would have been perfect. The community board by the camp washroom suggested going into to Ucluelet when it rained.

We hiked a portion of what Wild Pacific Trail we hadn’t been on before. We enjoyed the tidal pools and the solitude of having the beach to ourselves. Then headed out in search of something warm to eat.

The Barkley Cafe claimed free internet, but that seemed to be only a myth. It was a great place to come across locals and fellow campers.  On our way out we met a group of 4 seniors camp cyclists. Despite their various dry bags everything seemed soaked to the core. It made me wonder how does one stay in a wet tent day after day.
