Looking for a lasting and useful project for your older girls. Paddle making is challenging, but well worth the effort.

The local Treks unit ordered raw canoe paddles from Grey Owl Paddles in Cambridge. We asked Treks if we could join them for canoe paddle making.  Treks is a unit for girls in Grade 7 and up. I was a little worried that my daughter wouldn’t make through the day. She surprised me though. She powered through sanding her paddle. When it came time to painting though, we didn’t get to finish. Her energy was shot and her creativity was rushed.
