One of your favourite Guide camp experiences was when we stayed at the Makeewa Farmhouse. Makeewa is the closest Guide camp to Toronto, which makes this great for winter travel. The girls love the toboggan hill and the cozy house.
There is a lot of history here.
The Farmhouse is the original home and the front section of the current building. There are three upstairs bedrooms with 2 bunks each, 4 beds per room and two upper washrooms. The main floor has the foyer, living room, dining room, kitchen and washroom. There are many hand painted details throughout this side of the house. Some brave Guides staying in back side of the house decided to camp outdoors. It was one of the coldest nights of the winter.
Besides being responsible for cooking all of their meals the Pathfinders sewed crests to their camp blankets, did homework, knit toques, did puzzles, read and made bath salts.
