Bruce Trail – Mono Cliffs to Boyne Valley, Fall Colours

The hike begins at 8 minutes

The nickname for this episode is “Making Hay on the Bruce Trail”. It’s about the transition from Summer into Autumn. The cast of harvest gold begins to fill our vision. Yellow is soon accompanied by pops of orange spice and apple red. The landscape is dramatically set against cynotype blue skies. The air becomes crisp and we turn inward seeking comfort.

Mono Cliff to Boyne Valley is the featured hike section of the Bruce Trail highlighted in this video. You can also view hikes in this same area in here from October, 2022, and here from April, 2023. It’s an excellent place to take in autumn colours. And, the secret is out. The park has become extremely popular during this time of year. Expect crowds. The hike is fairly easy, with only a couple of short steep slopes. Beside the fall colours hikers will enjoy the lake, farm fields, forest, rolling hills, and great views. An added bonus is the variety of wild apple to snack on along the way at this time of year. The hike concludes with a gear review.

Watch the entire video for some of my favourite fall comfort foods like homemade roasted coffee, pumpkin pie and apple cider, including a recipe. Off trail experiences include yoga in the park and a cynotype art workshop. Plus, I make a little announcement.

See you on the trail<3
