If you haven’t caught on I don’t know how to relax. Well Predator Ridge was my permission to myself to do this. Since reading about the Sparkling Hill opening back in 2010, this destination has been on my travel list. All I can say is that this place met my expectations and more. It was also exactly what I needed.
Basically the only thing to do was to take in the dramatic and ever changing views, swim in the infinity pool, sit in the hot tub, stroll in the Kneipp Hydrotherapy or hike on the many green circle to double black diamond trails on Predator Ridge. There is also mountain biking and golfing on the ridge.
We did the OK Lake Lookout Loop.
In the evening, the saunas and steam rooms open, where you can rotate from a variety of temperatures, humidities, and scents. My favourites were the experience showers, crystal steam room, salt steam room and igloo.
We dined at Peak Fine for breakfast and dinner and thoroughly enjoyed both meals and appreciated the professional staff. It is exactly what you would expect for such a resort.
Not that I want to be negative, but the night before, we ate at Gerni’s Farmhouse. Friends have recommended it. This Swiss chalet looked promisingly quaint as well as the alfresco panoramic dining. It really sets one up for high expectations. However, they didn’t know how to manage their wasps. And, unfortunately, the food wasn’t great. Perhaps, my Swiss travels have left me with a discerning palette. The food felt uncooked or under warmed. My guess is the sauerkraut was from Costco. The spaetzle was very greasy. I would choose my from scratch spaetzle over theirs any day.
Honestly, I could have stayed up there forever and would count myself lucky to return.
