Western Canada Road Trip: Sunrise to Sunset – Day 4

Despite a very late night out with old friends and classmates, I arose to watch to sunrise. We then quietly left the house for an early morning Sunday drive up to Fairview Historic Site for a great view.

We continued up the road until I realized we should have turn onto Willowbrook Rd. On the way down we were rewarded with a deer siting.

We continued along Willowbrook Rd to Seacrest Rd for to take in another great view of the valley before heading back to our hosts for a little more time together and McLovin cuddles.

We left Oliver via Tuc-el-nuit Drive and stopped by the District Wine Village because everyone raved about it. They have a mister!

When we reached Vaseaux lake, we went for a drive up McIntyre Creek Rd for yet another view of the valley. On the way past through Okanagan Falls we stopped at the landmark Tickleberry’s for brunch ice cream.

Once we got into Penticton we visited an old school friend and then headed to beach strip, Lakeshore Dr to check out the south beach Okanagan Lake. We realized we were hungry and came across the Hooded Merganser Restaurant. It was the best choice. The food and service were great and the view the best in town.

After lunch we headed up the valley, but not before stopping at Pyramid Picnic Area for a quick swim. Once we got to Kelowna, we stopped by a friends for a quick catchup. At this point we managed to stretch a 2 hour drive into 5 hours. At this realization we excused ourselves to head over to your day’s destination, Vernon. We ended the day by watching the sunset over the north end of Okanagan Lake.
