The air in BC always transforms me into a morning person. I awoke to the sunrise again and quietly left the house to walk past the ghost orchard* in search of coffee. We had a big day ahead of us and I needed the fuel. *The ghost orchard is an orchard where the air around it and in it is significantly colder than the average temperature of the town. It basically feels like you walked into the freezer section of a supermarket or the dairy room at Costco.
When I returned to Courtney’s, I got ready prepping our picnic. We then all headed out for a walk along the Chanel and then headed to and to visit Church and State Winery, where we enjoyed a delicious dessert from Instagram: @Sharkcuterie_Okanagan. Don and I did a little reel from there. When we left, wild horses were gathered along the road.
We eventually headed over to Lion’s Park to meet other former classmates. It was a nice gathering, complete with rare cherry’s from MT’s orchard. They were rare because the fruit greatly suffered this year due to the weather. We all enjoyed them and I got to bring the left overs back with us.
A couple of classmates invited us to the Burrowing Owl Winery. When we arrived they weren’t there, so we looked around until we found out there wasn’t room at the Burrowing Owl and the gathering was moved to Phantom Winery. Wow! WoW, wOW! What a classy place. The charcuterie was fantastique!
After this we headed back to Court’s to get ready for class reunion dinner and concert by Johnny Carwash & the Desert Dawgz.
