Bruce Trail – Cheltenham to Forks of the Credit

At the 11 minute mark

There are so many great sections of the Caledon Hills Club, one that needed to be revisited and shared with the other hikers was the Devil’s Pulpit and the Ring Kiln Side Trail south of Forks of the Credit. I have yet to find a comparable Bruce Trail experience to this area and it one of my faves! See post from my original hike here.

We parked North of Cheltenham Badlands and set out Northbound for a there and back again hike. The entire hike is gorgeous and mysterious. When you reach the area known as the Devil’s Pulpit, you know. First you’ll see the view and then the staircase that takes you down along the face of the escarpment. Then you’ll descend further through a path framed with mossy boulders and trees. You’ll pass the Ring Kiln side trail, we saved this for the return, and eventually come to more stairs and cross the railway tracks. If you continue onwards like we did, you’ll end up at Forks of Credit.

As mentioned, we explored the Ring Kiln side trail on the way back. We could have spent an hour exploring there and picnicking. Will consider this for a future hike.

See you on the trail.
